Activities of the BPID members were presented at the closing conference of the European Year for Development in Bulgaria

The closing conference of the European Year for Development (EYD 2015) took place on December 4, 2015 in Hall “Sofia” Grand Hotel Sofia. It was organized by the Diplomatic Institute within the National Program for EYD 2015.

Members of the Bulgarian Platform for International Development (BPID) took active part in the implementation of the activities of the National Program of Bulgaria for the European Year for Development 2015.

BPID members managed to held 12 regional meetings with 336 representatives of educational institutions for promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); countrywide discussions about inclusion of SDGs topics in educational programs; survey of the profile of the young global citizen; publication of manuals for teachers and students on SDGs; competition “Global School” and awards for 11 schools in the country; creation of an Internet platform, round table discussion and organization of the fourth National Conference on Global Education.

Special credit for the successful implementation of these activities have the following members of BPID: Global Initiative in Psychiatry -Sofia, Center for Inclusive Education, Alliance for Regional and Civil Initiatives (ARCI), C.E.G.A. – Creating Effective Grassroots Alternatives, Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association, United Nations Association of Bulgaria, Gender Project in Bulgaria, ADRA Bulgaria Foundation.

During the conference, Ms. Pavlina Filipova, coordinator of BPID, spoke about the contribution of BPID in implementation of the National Program of Bulgaria for the EYD2015, and Mr. Ventzislav Kirkov, Chairman of BPID, presented the results of last month study on the profile of the global young citizen.

The event gathered over 150 participants.
