Aims and values

The main objective of BPID is to ensure the representation of Bulgarian NGOs in the field of national and international development cooperation. We work with dedication for civil liberties and human rights. We declare our commitment to action in the name of democratic governance. We are in dialogue with young people about the future of the world, where no one is left behind. We support the Bulgarian foreign policy of providing humanitarian and development aid.

About us

BPID is a non-profit organization that unites the efforts of 16 NGOs to work for the solution of social, economic and environmental problems both in our country and in the priority countries for Bulgarian development policy. The platform was established in 2009 after a 3-year preparatory period with the TRIALOG project partnership, designed to facilitate dialogue between old and new Member States of the European Union and countries of the Global South.

Current activity

The BPID focuses its efforts on opportunities to improve the regulatory framework at national and European level regarding development cooperation. We work to raise public awareness on development policy issues. We successfully lobby for the application of the methods and principles of global citizenship education. We seek partnerships to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals with both institutions and businesses.
