Who are we?

BPID was established in 2009 under the TRILOGUE project, in cooperation with CONCORD and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to facilitate dialogue between the EU and the Global South. The platform brings together hundreds of experts and advocates from 16 national non-profit organizations in the field of social justice, Bulgaria and EU development policy, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Global education.

The BPID focuses its efforts on the possibilities for improving the regulatory framework at national and European level regarding development cooperation.

Vision

The Bulgarian Platform for International Development is fighting for a world where every person has equal access to quality education and health services, enjoys protected rights to decent work and takes care of nature. This must be achieved through more solidarity and effectiveness of international cooperation for sustainable development.

Mision

BPID strives to direct institutions and society to increase sensitivity to the problems of the world, from which the future of the people and our country are directly dependent. We are united to solve social, economic and environmental problems at national and global level, seeking to expand the space for civic participation. We have committed to working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals because we believe they are an appropriate tool for strategic planning and shaping an agenda for action.
